By order of a U.S District Court Judge in New York, a settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit involving certain excessive fees incurred during Visa and Mastercard, credit and debit card transactions, known as the payment card interchange fee settlement.

Every person and business in the United States that accepted Visa and Mastercard, credit or debit cards from January 1, 2004 to January 25, 2019 is a class member of this visa mastercard class action lawsuit. All 16 of the U.S. Territories are also included, such as Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and the Virgin Islands. 1

The court has ordered funds in the amount of  $5,540,000,000,  that's

  ( 5.54 billion dollars, )  currently held in an escrow account reserved for this payment card interchange fee settlement, to be distributed, including to those businesses that file a claim before Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

To receive any of the settlement funds you must file a claim.

The court has established specific procedures that must be followed to file a valid claim in order for your business to receive the fees reimbursement.
